Sharon Nelson was born February 19, 1956, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Gardner) Nelson. She graduated from Central High School in 1974. Sharon grew up in Washburn most of her life. While growing up, she camped at Turtle Creek in Delhi. Sharon worked at John Deere for 28 years. Sharon enjoyed traveling, but most of all, loved spending time with her family, playing with her grandson, great-niece and great-nephews.
Sharon passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Marla Dinnebier; brothers-in law, Bill Dinnebier and Steve Stanford; her best friend, Phyz May and Aunts and Uncles. Sharon is survived by a daughter, Jessica Nelson of Waterloo; a grandchild, Hunter; a brother, Robert Nelson, Jr. of Washington State; a sister, Dana Stanford of Cedar Rapids and nieces, and Melanie (Brian) Jacobawitz of Cedar Rapids and Melissa Stanford of Marion.
Memorial Visitation: Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, 965 Home Plaza, Waterloo.
