Wanda Lee, daughter of James Adams and Vera Corwin was born September 7, 1942, at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was baptized April 12, 1954, at the New Hartford Methodist Church and confirmed on October 30, 1988 at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. Wanda grew up in New Hartford, receiving her education in the New Hartford School System and graduated from New Hartford High School in 1960. On June 14, 1963, she was united in marriage with Larry Burrows in New Hartford. To this union, two sons were born Steve and Bob. After Larry accepted a teaching job at Sumner Schools in 1963, the family made Sumner their home. Wanda began her working career at U.B.C. Building Center, prior to a long career at Dr. Smith's Office in Sumner, retiring in 2009. Wanda was a longtime active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner, where she was involved in WELCA, and volunteered at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner. She enjoyed playing cards (was in several local card clubs), baking cookies, yard sales, relaxing on her front porch, feeding the birds and squirrels, sharing her adventures with Facebook friends, and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and recently became a fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Wanda loved spending time with her dog, Chief. They enjoyed walking on the local trails, sharing ice cream cones, and watching the birds and squirrels from her sunroom. However, her greatest joy came from time spent with family. Especially the time spent with her grandchildren whether that was cheering them on at their sporting events, playing endless rounds of card games, or sipping coffee on the front porch.
Wanda is survived by her two sons, Steve (Rhonda Bradley) Burrows of Sumner and Bob (Catherine) Burrows of Bondurant; five grandchildren, Chelsea (Caleb Sanderman) Burrows of Cedar Falls, Jordan (Tanner Henniges) Burrows of Cedar Falls, Shawn (Kelsey) Burrows of Dallas, Texas, Bobbie Jo (Matt Drucker) Burrows of Charlotte, North Carolina and Ashley (Kole Ruud) Burrows of Des Moines; one great-grandson, Miles Burrows; sister, Cindy (Tom) Gerard of DeWitt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Beth Burrows of Texas, Donna and Paul Lindemann of Dysart, Mary and Kenny Oldenburger of Chariton, and Steve Hosper of Melbourne, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry on May 11, 2014; brothers-in-law, James and Dale Burrows; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Hosper.

Dear Steve and Bob and families and Cindy and Family
We send our deepest condolences at this difficult time of losing your beloved mother, grandmother, and
sister. I, as countless others, grieve with you as we have lost a wonderful longtime friend who was filled with humor, kindness, and
and joy that she shared unselfishly with all. During our last phone conversation just a frw days before her passing, I was struck with her acceptance of the terminal illness that was ravaging her physically, and our conversation turned to topics that convinced me that she was not letting her illness define her mentally and spiritually, even in her last days. She even spoke of having one of her sons drive her to our NHHS classmates' February luncheons which she had spearheaded with gusto. Hopefully we will continue those gatherings to honor her and together we will return to fun stories and great memories instead of sadness. She would want her values and joys to live on through those she touched. Wanda was a special gift and we give thanks for her presence in our lives.
With prayers and caring,
Lorraine and Pete
