DeKalb Miles

DeKalb Miles, age 94, died Sunday, July 20, 2025. Funeral services for Mr. Miles will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ with Doug Miles, David Miles, Carter Miles, Cameron Miles, and Jonathan Miles officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:15-2pm at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Anna Annette Miles; sons: Douglas Miles (Vickie) and David Miles (Terri); grandchildren: Ashley Miles Godwin (Jonathan), Carter A. Miles (Jan), Cameron Miles (Susanna), Janna Miles; great grandchildren: Wilks Miles, Aubrey Godwin, Miles Godwin, Mary Lyle Miles, Amelia "Millie" Miles; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family. Mr. Miles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a hardworking man who spent his life serving others. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. He served his community and church as a member and elder of Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ for over 50 years. Serving the Lord through the work he did with the church was of utmost importance to him. During his working career he spent 38 years as a machinist at Ft. Rucker. To simply call him a machinist was an understatement. He was the one that was sought out for any especially difficult thing that needed to be fixed. Mr. Miles was also an avid football fan and loved watching any SEC game he could. Perhaps above all, he loved his family and cherished any opportunity he had to spend with them. He was his grandchildren's biggest supporter going to every sports event, theatre event and any other part of their lives. He was loved by so many and will be missed by all. Carter Miles, Cameron Miles, Jonathan Godwin, Caden Shows, Ken Harris Jr., and Roy Medley will serve as pallbearers.
