In Loving Memory of Mr. Leonard Earl Headley Mr. Leonard Earl Headley, 83, a cherished resident of Prattville, Alabama, went peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A celebration of Earl's life will be held on Saturday September 20, 2025, at 11:00 am from Prattville Memorial Chapel with Pastor Nick Edwards officiating. Private family burial will be held after the service. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Born on May 7, 1942, Earl was known for his quick wit, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family. He built a long and respected career as an industrial mechanic, specializing in commercial laundry equipment, where his dedication and skill earned the admiration of many. Earl lived life with a playful spirit and a big heart. One of his favorite pastimes was teasing the ladies at the Waffle House, always bringing laughter to the table. He also loved dropping a line in his pond and, above all else, spending time with his family. Earl was preceded in death by his former spouses, Alice Headley and Diane Headley; two sons, Ricky Earl Headley and Brandon Headley; daughter, Lynn Stephens. Earl is survived by his four daughters: Shanna Lucas (James); Karen Looney (Trey), Deann Brown (Chris) and Hope Headley; 16 grandchildren, Ricky Stephens, Michael Dandridge, Dylan Lucas, Dalton Lucas, Devin Lucas (Hana), Ryan Looney, Alex Looney (Bayliegh), Kaden Goodson, Collin Headley, Chase Headley, Jason Horton, Colby Avant, Ashlynn Brown, Hayden Brown, Emily Headley and Laykin Dennis; his son in love, John Weaver; six siblings, Richard Chavers, Buddy Chavers, Vickey Burger, Cindy Dill, Roger Chavers and Elize Chavers; extended family and many friends. Earl leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren who had the privilege of knowing and loving him, many extended relatives and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory. All who knew and loved him are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the remarkable life he lived. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing Earl is at peace in the presence of his Savior. His humor, faith, and love will continue to be a guiding light for his family for generations to come. Pallbearers will be Michael Dandridge, Devin Lucas, Alex Looney, Hayden Brown, Dylan Lucas and Kaden Goodson. Honorary Pallbearers will be his other grandchildren.
