Levonia Spivey Obituary
Levonia Shay "PeeWee" Spivey, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, in Dublin, GA. Born on April 27, 1959, in Winter Garden, FL, PeeWee's vibrant spirit and generous heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
PeeWee spent her professional life as a dedicated waitress where she served her community with a smile that could light up any room. Her work was not just a job but an extension of her hospitable nature, leaving a lasting impression on her patrons and coworkers alike. Her spirited and independent nature was balanced by a stubborn streak that only served to underline her deep convictions and her determination to stand by her beliefs and her loved ones.
PeeWee's family was the epicenter of her world. She was a devoted daughter, a true "daddy's girl", to her late father, Charles William Shay, and her mother, Maxine Massey Parrish. Her adoration for her husband, Dale Jones, was evident in the life they built together for 31 years. She was a nurturing mother to Teresa (Ken) Helton, Felicia (Mitch) Spivey, Anthony (JoAnna) Spivey, Kim (Cody) Spivey, Spence (Ashley) Jones, Torie Soles, and Howard Self. Her legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her love and life lessons.
PeeWee's siblings, Estella "Goober" Darsey, Jimmy (Brandy) Shay, and Wayne (Linda) Shay, shared in the joys and challenges of life with her, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her numerous nieces and nephews knew they could always count on Aunt PeeWee for support, laughter, and wisdom.
Always willing to help anyone in need, PeeWee was the embodiment of a giver. Her world revolved around her kids, and she was the true definition of a daddy's girl, cherishing the bond with her father until his passing. Her favorite quote, "I love you to the moon and back," was a testament to the depth of her affection for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Mary Whitaker Townsend Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ox Marina officiating. Burial will follow at Red Bluff Cemetery in Treutlen County.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2025 at the funeral home.
