Rozell Woods

Rozell Woods, age 91, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025. Born in Phenix City, Alabama, he was the beloved son of the late Robert Woods and Corine Thomas Woods. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Woods served his country with honor and dignity. His commitment to service extended beyond the military-he dedicated his professional life to the Columbus Consolidated Government, where he worked as a supervisor, earning the respect of colleagues and community members alike.

Rozell was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where his presence was a source of strength and fellowship. His life was rooted in devotion to his faith, his work, and most of all, his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Freddie Mae Jenkins Woods; three sons, Tommy Woods (Sarah, deceased) and Michael Woods (Kimberly); three daughters, Wanda Thorne (Kevin), Shirley Thompson (Lewis), and Barbara Woods Weeks (Johnny); 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
