Columbus, WI - COLUMBUS-Dorothy J. Anderson age 89, died on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on August 16, 1934 in Rockford, IL to Ralph and Dorothy (Moser) Brough. She graduated from college with a nursing degree. She was married to Dean Anderson and together raised four children. Dorothy worked as an independent medical record consultant. She was creative in many ways, whether making porcelain dolls for the grandkids or ensuring baked treats were always available for guests or family. She was known for her sour milk cookies, cardamom rolls and bumpy pudding. She especially loved the holidays with her grandkids where Halloween parties at the farm included haymow fun and a big bonfire in the field. At Christmastime, Dorothy loved setting up her Christmas village with the grandkids help.
Survivors include her sons Gregory (Linda) Anderson of Cambridge and Tracey (Cheryl) Anderson of Waterloo; her two daughters Wendy Wolfgram of Lake Mills and Vicki (Dean) Forseth of Verona; 13 grandchildren Katrina (Andrew) Schaller, Krista (Ryan) Bensheimer, Timothy (Jennifer) Anderson, Julia (Luke) Bernthal, Amy (Chad) Kittel, Andrea (Greg) Hanson, Joshua Forseth, Lindsey Forseth, Lukus Forseth, Brian Anderson, Michael Anderson, Brittany Anderson, Megan (Brendan) Winter; 18 great grandchildren Anna Schaller, Ty Bensheimer, Lauren Schaller, Will Bensheimer, Torin Anderson, Kade Bensheimer, Brandon Schaller, Rhys Anderson, Reid Bensheimer, Tristan Kittel, Trinity Kittel, Carlene Jensen, Olivia Jensen, Paxton Culbert, Skyler Anderson, Berend Winter, Oliver Winter, Greyson Winter, sister-in-law Charlene (James) Barrett; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 70 years, Dean in February, 2023; two brothers Richard and Arthur Brough; son-in-law Keith Wolfgram; daughter-in-law Beth Anderson.
A private family service will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Columbus, WI. Pastor Ben Zuberbier will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Columbus.
