Jean Westendorf Obituary
A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 8, 2025 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Watertown, WI at 3 p.m. with Rev. Justin Cloute and Rev. Anthony Schultz officiating. Family and friends may gather for visitation at church from 1 p.m. until the start of the service. Memorials, if desired, can be donated to Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.
Jean Kay Schroeder was born to parents Erwin and Selma (Diersen) Schroeder on May 15, 1947 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Jean graduated Luther Preparatory High School and later earned her Bachelor of Teaching Degree from Dr. Martin Luther College. Jean worked as a teacher until her retirement. Jean was united in marriage to James Westendorf on August 6, 1972 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown.
Jean was skilled with musical instruments, often playing piano and organ for the church. She had a small competitive streak and enjoyed playing and winning at card games. Jean loved to travel with her husband, James, throughout the world during their retirement. Jean was also a generous host who liked to cook to entertain her guests.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, James Westendorf; children, Jennifer (Matthew) DeNoyer, Timothy (Kelly) Westendorf, Rachel (Justin) Cloute, Lisa (Ryan) Finkbeiner, Kathryn (Daniel) Olson, Elizabeth (Kyle) Swogger, Rebecca (Nathan) Gabower, and Daniel (Kadie) Westendorf; 31 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Neal (Marilyn) Schroeder, Joyce (Dan) Feuerstahler, Joel (Ruth) Schroeder, and Mark (Andrea) Schroeder; sisters-in-law, Leann Schroeder, Rachel Schroeder, and Hedy Schroeder; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Kent Schroeder, Lynn Schroeder, and Keith Schroeder.
