Kathryn Roedl Obituary
She was born on April 27, 1947, in Manistique, MI, the daughter of the late John "Jack" and Helen (Tucker) McGurk.
She was a 1965 graduate of Lake Mills High School.
She married her High School sweetheart Lawrence "Larry" Roedl on December 2, 1967. At the time of her passing, Katy and Larry had been together 62 years.
Katy had a passion for helping children, spending her entire 31 year career at Prospect Elementary School.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lake Mills.
Katy's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, playing cards with her friends and supporting her L-Cats, Brewers, Badgers and Packers. After Katy and Larry retired they enjoyed traveling. Their favorite, was the trip they made to Ireland where she was able to visit some relatives and sample some true Irish Whiskey.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Larry; their three sons, David (Inger) of Lake Mills, Daniel of Lake Geneva, Marcus of Lake Mills; four grandchildren, Chandler (Mallory) O'Connor, Carson (Michael) Roedl, Delaney (Jovina) Roedl, Fletcher Austin; Katy's siblings, Dodie Yahn, Mary Lou Kiepert, Jeannie Grawey, Nancy Holzapfel, Margaret (David) Oleson, Lori (Bruce) Krahn, Janet Turpin, Barb (Dan) Weihert, Mike (Kathy) McGurk, Carol McGurk, Patti (Ray) Black; numerous nieces; nephews; other cherished relatives and friends.
Also preceded in death by her brother, Patrick McGurk and five brothers-in-law, Roger Yahn, Michael Kiepert, William Grawey III, Bob Holzapfel, and William Turpin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Lake Mills United Methodist Church.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. at the church on Saturday until the time of services.
Private family interment will be at Salem Cemetery at a later date.
If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Lake Mills Area School District Food Pantry "The Mill"
