Richard Kusel Obituary
Dick was born on February 12, 1943, the son of Erwin and Louetta (Schroeder) Kusel. He attended and graduated from Watertown High School. On November 25, 1961, Dick was united in marriage with Joan Griep at St. Henry Catholic Church of Watertown. Dick and Joan were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Watertown where Dick enjoyed ushering when he was able. Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked being out in nature. In his free time, he also enjoyed bowling and golfing. Dick was an active member of the Moose Lodge and Izaak Walton Watertown Chapter. He was a kind and loving man who had a unique sense of humor. Dick was a lifelong helper and would aid anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Richard is survived by: his wife Joan; sons Greg (Julie) Kusel, Scott (Stacey) Kusel, and Christopher Kusel; grandchildren Noah, Maxwell, and Bryndle; siblings Ralph (Georgie) Kusel, and Susan Hady; and special pet companions Vada and Buffy. Dick is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Richard is preceded in death by: his parents; brothers Robin Kusel and Victor Kusel; and sister Anita Hartmann.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 11, 2025, at 12:00pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Watertown with Rev. Carina Schlitz presiding. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service at the church.
