Billy Davis Obituary

Billy Gayle Davis was born on July 14, 1944, in Wichita, Kansas. In 1945, his parents left the Dust Bowl behind in search of a better life, settling in the apple-rich town of Wenatchee, Washington.
Bill shared a special bond with his father, Glenn, who instilled in him a lifelong love of fishing and hunting. Those early experiences shaped much of who Bill became: a man who found joy in the outdoors, in friendship, and in community.
On June 5, 1964, Bill married his high school Appleette sweetheart, Barbara Smith. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work and hospitality. In his early years, Bill managed the Peter Rabbit Grocery Store before moving on to manage several taverns, including Little Pedro's, The Viking, and The Igloo. Bill also achieved a dream by getting his small plane pilot's license in 1975.
In 1976, Bill fulfilled a dream when he purchased a tavern in Omak, which he named the North Country Pub. More than just a business, it became a gathering place and a hub for the community. Bill was larger than life, known for his generosity and humor, and for the many ways he gave back. He loved playing poker, bridge, and cribbage. Bill sponsored countless local teams-baseball, men's and women's softball, and pool leagues-helping to foster the same sense of camaraderie and belonging he valued so deeply.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of more than 60 years, Barbara, their three children: Tim, Amy, and Kit along with 8 grandchildren (Sarah, Julianne, Hannah, Christopher, Nicholas, Gabriel, Lane, and Lexi). His legacy lives on in his family, the friendships he cherished, and the community he helped shape.
A celebration of life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Omak Elks, 110 Ash St., Omak. Food be provided, drinks are on you.
