Colton Long Obituary

Colton Joseph Long

November 11, 2005 – August 24, 2024

Wenatchee, WA

On the morning of August 24, 2024, our beloved Colton "Colty Joe" Joseph Long, took his last breath, strapped on his angel wings, and went to be with the Lord.

Our perfect gift, Colton was born on November 11, 2005, on a beautiful evening in Wenatchee, WA. When he was littlle and you would ask him when his birthday was, he would tell you "Remember 11."

He graduated from Westside High School in June of this year, and wanted to join the IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship this fall to be an Electrician like his Pa and great-grandpa, Harold.

Colty always loved so big with his huge, beautiful heart and you always felt it with his big bear hugs. He never went a day without the biggest smile on his face and was a friend to all who were lucky enough to cross paths with him. Colty was a very artistic and talented young man. He loved to draw, write, build amazing creations with Legos, and play video games with his brother, Casey. Colty also loved working on his truck, and being outside in the beauty of nature camping, hiking, and fishing with his family and friends. Colty enjoyed being at the family farm driving a combine tractor and learning about wheat farming and the Long family legacy from his Dad and Papa. He was a wonderful brother and fierce protector of his siblings. Colty loved his family and beamed with pride whenever he talked about them. He was full of selfless love and was always there when anyone needed him to lend a hand in any way he could. Silly in spirit and ready to pull a prank when he had the chance. We are going to miss our handsome, sweet boy until we meet him again.

Colty is survived by his father, Ryan Long, and bonus mom, Emily Knutson; mother, Megan Long, and bonus dad, Brian Brett; his siblings: Ally Long, Mady Long, and Casey Long; bonus siblings: Siri Brett and Dagan Brett; the love of his life, Mariah Bautista; grandparents: Pat and Lisa Walsh, Tony and Sharon Long; and bonus grandparents: Gary and Judy Brett; aunts and uncles: Lizzy and Aki Iba (Mara and Oona), Erin and Mark Glasser (Elijah, Ian, Wyatt), CJ and Matthew Saretto; numerous great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins, and friends.

Although it is hard to sum up the incredible impact Colty left on this earth in his short 18 years of life, we conclude with this: May we all love like Colton.

A Celebration of Life is planned on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at the Wenatchee Convention Center, 121 N. Wenatchee Avenue, Wenatchee, WA. In honor of Colton, you are welcome to wear a shirt from your favorite rock band or band of choice. Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
