Dan Roach Obituary

Dan Roach, 82, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Born November 18, 1943, he spent most of his childhood and youth in Bothell, WA where he met his wife of 59 years. After a few years of service in the United States Air Force Reserve, he relocated the family to Twisp, WA. Here his wife and four children watched his passion flourish for his family, his church, and his community. The region provided an endless supply of adventures and memories but failed to provide steady employment and he was forced to find work elsewhere.
After nearly two decades in the Methow Valley he moved the family south to Wenatchee, started his own business and found stability and fulfillment designing, building, and maintaining landscapes throughout North Central Washington. Over the years he developed an interest in horticulture as therapy and pursued higher education and experience toward that end, working for several years at The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment.
His passion for people and community was evident in his involvement with various non-profit organizations, missions, and associations. He was an active and valued member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers and was a member of the Wenatchee Downtown Association Design Committee. His most apparent contribution to the WDA can be seen in the colorful container gardens found throughout downtown Wenatchee, but he also made significant contribution to the survey of historic buildings for the Downtown Wenatchee Historic District.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife Dee and children Janet, Mike [Amy], Daniel [Danielle], and Tim, and grandchildren Halle and Mason. Also surviving him are his younger siblings Ellen [Gerald] Grant, John [Kathy] Roach, Kathy Peterson, Sam [Dianna] Roach, and dozens of nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Dorothy and his brother-in-law Rod Peterson.
A hardworking man content to work quietly in the shadows, Dan's legacy will be seen and felt for decades by many in the community that never knew his generous spirit. Those of us that love him feel the void left by his absence from this world, and we look forward to the joyful reunion in Heaven.
