Lilly Krause Obituary

Lilly Krause
July 30, 2025
Lilly went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 30, 2025 at the age of 87.
She was born in Leavenworth, WA to Arthur and Gaile Day Krause. In 1946, the family moved to Chelan.
School was difficult for Lilly and she stopped going when she was in the 8th grade. She then became a nanny for a family she loved and moved with them to Louisiana where she continued to be a nanny to the children. When that work was done, she returned to Wenatchee, WA and became a housekeeper at a local motel where she worked for many years until she sustained an on-the-job injury and was unable to continue working in that capacity.
Later she realized that she needed more education and enrolled at Wenatchee Junior College in an attempt to get her GED. She was unable to fulfill that dream when her health deteriorated and she moved to an assisted living facility in Cashmere. Although she was unable to continue classes due to a lack of transportation, she never gave up on learning but continued to keep her mind active with word puzzles. She loved to play bingo and was an active player and very lucky in winning. Lilly was in assisted living for 10 years and loved her home there where she was treated as one of their family. She was a grateful, kind and caring person. She always had a ready smile and a big thank you for anyone who helped her. She will be missed by those who loved her.
Lilly loved the Lord and reading the Bible was a favorite pastime for her. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John, and is survived by her sister, Betty Kuechler (John) of Kennewick, WA, as well as many cousins.
Lilly will be sorely missed by her family and those who knew and cared for her. At her request, there will be no service.

While my Mother was at Epledalen, I would help her and Lilly play Bingo. I walked up to Lilly when we moved my Mother in and asked her if she was walking north on Chelan St every morning as I headed south on Chelan to work in the Federal Bldg. It was Lilly and our weekly friendship began. She shared many things with me. She was the sweetest and fun lady.
