Wanda Inabnit Obituary
Her family moved to Brewster WA in1937 from Dandridge TN before moving to Peshastin WA in 1939, and to Leavenworth WA in1941. Geri received her education in Leavenworth. Geri married and divorced twice before marrying H Dean Inabnit of Cashmere WA.
Geri volunteered at the Chelan County Museum for a while before going to work for Jean and John McDonald at the Western Auto and McDonald's Furniture Store in Cashmere. When McDonald retired, Geri went to work for Davis Furniture in Wenatchee for two and a half years before returning to the museum as the Museum Coordinator in 1981. John and Robert Eddy persuaded her to try the job, saying it would be for only three to four hours a day. Her first week she worked 72 hours in seven days. Part of her job was the chief fundraiser. Geri said, "when people saw her coming, they put their hands over their billfolds." She raised several hundred thousand dollars for the museum. Geri was honored as 1988 Citizen of the Year by the Cashmere Chamber of Commerce. She worked several years at Das Meisterstuck in Leavenworth. Geri spent several hours a day working in her beautiful flower gardens. Geri enjoyed working in her vegetable gardens, cooking, boating, and visiting family and friends. She had a zest for life and was loved by so many people.
Geri is survived by her children, Ruth Montoya, Scott (Ginger) Radach, and Jeff (Tara) Radach. She is also survived by her stepchildren Kari Rolen and Mark Inabnit.
Geri is also survived by her 5 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons, and 1 great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband Dean, her mother Maggie, father Luther, brother Randel, and sister Margeret.
The memorial service will be held at the Baptist Church, 103 Aplets Way, Cashmere WA on Saturday March 21 at 11:00 am.
