Ernesto Davila, known affectionately as Jr to his family and friends, embarked on his eternal journey on October 8, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. Born on October 29, 1959, in the scenic town of Salinas, Puerto Rico, Ernesto brought an adventurous spirit and an infectious sense of humor into every room he entered. A loving husband, a dedicated father, a wonderful grandfather, and a passionate pet owner to Lia and Toby, he was the heart and soul of his family. Ernesto's life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his loved ones and his work. He was a hardworking landscaper who, even in retirement, found joy in transforming outdoor spaces into works of art. Ernesto was always busy doing something, his hands as expressive as his heart was generous. His love for his family was matched only by his love for his birthplace, Puerto Rico. He cherished the annual vacations to his favorite spot, Luquillo Beach, where he'd soak in the sun, listening to the music he loved (Salsa), and share stories that would leave everyone around him in laughter. Ernesto's life was a reflection of the verse from the Bible, Proverbs 17:22 - "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." He lived this verse, his cheerful heart touching all those who had the privilege to know him. Ernesto is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Davila Rodriguez, his mother, Carmen Rosado, his five siblings, his children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, sons-in-laws, his twin aunts Carmen and Maria Davila, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernesto Davila Sr. A viewing for Ernesto will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109.
