Gurtrude Sterling

Gurtrude A. Sterling, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering kindness. Born on September 7, 1939, in Hanover, Jamaica, Gurtrude's life was a testament to quiet courage and deep compassion. Gertrude was a devoted mother whose heart and soul were dedicated to her children. To her daughter Jennifer, she gave everything-her time, wisdom, and unconditional love. Being a mother was not just a role for Gertrude; it was the essence of who she was. She raised Jennifer with patience, strength, and compassion, serving as a guiding light throughout her life. Those who knew Gurtrude admired her quiet strength and steady presence. She was a woman who never sought attention but always offered support without judgment, advice without pressure, and love without condition. Her commitment to doing what was right, even when difficult, was a hallmark of her character. She lived her values humbly and sincerely, touching the lives of all around her with her thoughtful words, gentle humor, and dependable nature. Gurtrude's legacy is carried on most clearly through her children-Jennifer Goldson, Michele Reid, Jean McGregor, and Dean Moulton-and her 15 grandchildren. She also leaves behind a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, friends, and her church family, all of whom were blessed by her presence. She was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice Reggon and Andrew Sterling, and her son, Michael Edward. Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the profound impact Gurtrude had on our lives.
