Luz F. Rivera

Luz F. Rivera, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025. She was born on December 12, 1928, in Lares, Puerto Rico. A woman of compassion, warmth, and endless love, Luz dedicated her life to nurturing the minds of young children as a Teacher's Aid. Her loving spirit was reflected in her unwavering dedication to her work, family and those in need. In the words of Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." This quote was embodied by Luz in her everyday life. She found joy and beauty in the simplest of things, and her loving heart was felt by everyone who was fortunate enough to meet her. Luz was a resident of Springfield, Massachusetts, where she lived a fulfilling life, always sharing her endless love with her children who she leaves behind, Grisel Rivera, Yolanda River, Diana Rivera, Annette Rivera and Abel Rivera. She also leaves Five Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren, her siblings, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Luz was preceded in death by her parents, Joaquin Castro Gonzalez and Hortencia Molina Lopez, her loving husband, Angel L. Rivera, her daughter, Hortensia Rivera and he son, Noel Rivera. A viewing for Luz F. Rivera will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA, followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, Massachusetts, 01109.
