Mrs. Shirley Allwood peacefully entered her place of eternal rest on October 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on October 14, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, Shirley was the cherished daughter of the late Warren and Juanita Green. Raised in New York, Shirley was a devoted mother to her three children: Derrick Green, Tamika Green, and Rodney Green. In her twenties, she and her family relocated to Springfield, Massachusetts, where she met Ronald Allwood, whom she married in 1991. A woman of determination and dedication, Shirley earned her Business Word Processing certification at age 35. She devoted 26 years of her career as a home care coordinator for the elderly, where her compassionate service was recognized with numerous awards. She retired early at 61, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and commitment to those she cared for. Shirley's quick wit and infectious sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her. She delighted in music, concerts, comedy shows, and lively conversations that always ended in laughter. At home, she enjoyed watching movies and television shows, often sharing a good story or the latest celebrity gossip with visitors. A proud grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of two, Shirley's family was the center of her world. She also leaves behind her loving husband Ronald, her brothers Warren Green Jr. and Michael Green, and her sister Maxine Green. Though she may not have always expressed her love through words, Shirley's heart and home were always open to those in need. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Now, she joins her mother in eternal peace, leaving a lasting imprint on the lives she touched. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by all who had the privilege to know her.
