Carroll Hickman Obituary

Carroll Hickman, 89, West Plains, Missouri entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Brooke Haven Health Care.

Carroll leaves behind his devoted wife of almost 62 years, Diana, his children. Charlotte and David, his grandson, Brandon; his sister, Thelma Parks, numerous relatives and friends; and his dog, Bobbie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Frances Hickman; 5 brothers Charles, Irvin, Clinton, Bobbie, Lloyd Hickman and 2 sisters Mary Jean Pressley and Lucille Cox; and by numerous other relatives.

Carroll was no stranger to hard work, always helping anyone he could without asking anything in return. He loved working on his farm, taking care of his cattle, llamas, and his pet goat. He enjoyed playing pool at Senior Citizens, but most of all he loved singing Gospel music. Some of his favorite songs were "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder," "It is Well with My Soul," and "Just a Little Talk with Jesus." He volunteered for over 30 years ministering Gospel music to the residents at the local nursing homes. Over 25 years were spent volunteering at Brooke Haven. He received the "Volunteer of the Year" award in 2018. Carroll will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Hickman was a Korean War Veteran having served in the United States Army.

He was a Christian and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Per his wishes, no services were held. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association in Carroll's memory.
