Joe Wiggs Obituary

Wiggs, Joe Thomas SPRING VALLEY -- Joe Thomas Wiggs, born in Weatherford, Texas, on December 15, 1925, died on December 14, 2013. After high school, Joe joined the U.S. Navy and served as a gunner on the USS Belleau Wood during World War II. He retired from Rohr Aircraft as a supervisor in 1987 after working there for 34 years. He is survived by his wife Joyce of 58 years, two children, Cynthia Lanahan (husband Daniel), Bart Wiggs (wife Terry), and four grandchildren Kyle, Torie, Garrett and Amanda. He was a loving husband, caring father and a wonderful grandfather. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice in his honor.
