Upon hearing the news about Joe Liberman today, it brought back memories of Johno Lupton. I was in Westport CN for my senior year in high school @ Staples HS. I remember him well. I googled Johno, and saddened, but thankful that we were friends for a short time.

During my tenure as the Westport News Sports Editor, John worked for me, and he was a dedicated and nice man, who I enjoyed knowing. I was shocked to hear he's no longer with us, and I wish cancer was cured at least 40 years ago. This dreaded disease has taken to many lives and caused too much pain to those who suffer from it.

My condolences to Lallie and John. I knew John over 30 years and was the first person i met in Atlanta after moving from Chicago. In 2000 he joined a group of us in Sydney for the Olympics and we shared a wonderful meal together at Casa Italia. He will be missed.

Just learned of John's passing wanted to extend our deepest sympathy to his devoted family. 'Lupto' as we fondly called him was one of the most upbeat and supportive people we have ever had the pleasure of calling friend. His positive attitude and infectious laugh will be with us forever. Johno was a very special, active and caring person throughout our high school years and, obviously, throughout his entire life. My condolences to the entire Lupton family.
