Lynn Grossman Obituary
August 15, 1952 - January 12, 2024
Lynn Grossman, 71, departed this world on January 12, 2024. She succumbed after a long battle with breast cancer.
Born on August 15, 1952, to Fred and Shirley Grossman in Merrick, Long Island, Lynn's life's journey was fueled by a passion for education and service. After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in midwifery from Columbia University School of Nursing in 1981, she began her career as a midwife in Manhattan. In 1989, she became a financial advisor, and left an indelible mark as SVP at Smith Barney, Wells Fargo, and Raymond James before retiring in 2023. She loved supporting her clients in achieving financial security, and also the bonds she formed with them as a trusted advisor.
Among Lynn's proudest professional accomplishments was the establishment and leadership of the Thomas and Jeanne Elmezzi Foundation. Over 29 years, her vision and efforts resulted in the creation of Zone 126, a ground-breaking non profit that provides a cradle to career collaborative of services for families of Astoria and Long Island City, Queens, NY.
Lynn shared her love of photography and art with her children and grandchildren, finding immense joy in photographing them at Compo Beach in Westport and in the mountains of Ulster County, NY, two of her favorite places.
Lynn's memory is held by her daughters, Chandra Simon Ritvo (Jacob) of San Mateo, CA and Samantha Saccomano of Portland, OR; two grandsons, Frederick and Leo Ritvo. Her family, in honoring her vibrant spirit, will host a celebration of her extraordinary life in April. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to Zone 126.

I met Lynn many years ago as a financial advisor. Every meeting was a pleasure and educational. She "advised", but also listened. Not only did we talk about the markets, but we also spoke about renovating old homes, travel, photography, our children, etc. She will be missed.

Lynn was a very special person. I had the honor of working with her at Wells Fargo. No appointment was too small. She always thought of others. I will miss her.
