Brock Rittenhouse Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Brock E. Rittenhouse, who left us on July 10, 2025, at the age of 16 (65). He was born on February 29, 1960, in Winchester, Indiana. Brock was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known for his warm spirit, infectious laugh, and love of dad jokes.
Brock spent many happy years living in Fort Wayne, and most recently, Wolcottville, Indiana, on Adam's Lake where he created countless memories with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Lynda (McArdle) Rittenhouse, their sons and daughters-in-law Andrew and Katie Rittenhouse of Waunakee, WI, Ben Rittenhouse of Holland, MI, Aaron and Ellen Rittenhouse of Allegan, MI, Chris and Taylor Rittenhouse of Fort Wayne, IN, Nick and Allie Rittenhouse of Holland, MI, and Patrick and Samantha Rittenhouse of Walker, MI, and 7 grandchildren, Caleb, Ethan, Molly, Norah, Evelyn, Ophelia, and Felix whom will miss him dearly.
Brock had a rich and fulfilling career as an entrepreneur from owning a restaurant and gift shop to leading multiple residential and commercial real estate projects. He concluded his career as a dedicated home inspector. His determination and strong work ethic lives on in his six sons, each of whom has embraced his legacy by pursuing their own entrepreneurial passions.
As an active member of the community, Brock volunteered for Christ Child Society of Fort Wayne, Women's Care Center, and Knights of Columbus. He found true joy in helping others, whether they were familiar faces or strangers. His love for landscaping, antique collecting, and his signature dad jokes will continue to bring smiles and memories for years to come.
To honor Brock's life, a Funeral Mass will take place at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM. There will be an hour prior visitation. Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather for a Rosary service at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 3:30 PM, followed by a public visitation from 4:00-6:00 PM. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating the life of a truly remarkable man.
