Carol Miller Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carol A. Miller, 59 (maiden name Beatty). Even though we mourn the loss of sweet Carol, we rejoice in the fact she was welcomed into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. Carol passed peacefully in her husband's arms on October 7, 2025 the day of their 36th wedding anniversary. After undergoing a double lung transplant on September 27, 2025 at IU Health Methodist Hospital, she developed complications that her earthly body could not withstand. Carol was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to David and Beverly Beatty. She was a 1984 graduate of Snider High School where she was a distinguished scholar and member of Campus Life. Carol went on to graduate from Parkview Methodist School of Nursing in Fort Wayne. After graduation she started at Parkview Hospital as a registered nurse working nights as the charge nurse on the Ortho-Neuro floor. After her first son (Kyle) was born she became a stay at home mom to raise her two boys. Years later after Kyle and Grant became old enough, she started back with First Care Family Physicians, which became Parkview Physicians Group. She loved her co-workers and the nursing profession and Carol came from a long line of nurses, her mother Bev, aunt Kay and cousin Barb where great inspirations. Carol and her loving husband Kent met on a blind date in February of 1989, set up by mutual friends and they went to breakfast and then Sunday service at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. They knew it was love at first sight and had found their perfect life partner and married October, 7th that same year. Even though Carol died at an earlier age, she lived a very full and rewarding life traveling all around the US and abroad. She formed deep friendships with many parents of her sons Kyle and Grant. Attending Leo High School sporting events, euchre group, church fellowship at Leo Methodist and Grabill Missionary Churches, traveling and eating out were just some of her passions in life. Carol loved her family, especially her 4 grandchildren, and close knit friend group more then anything. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Purdue Boilermaker fan, but enjoyed watching any sports that involved the Big 10. But the most important thing to Carol was her walk with Christ. She leaves behind for now, her loving husband of 36 years, Kent C. Miller, her sons Kyle (Gabby) Miller and Grant Miller, her grandchildren Easton, Halen, Fallon and Boston, her parents David and Beverly Beatty, her twin sister Cheryl Beatty and younger sister Karen (Cole) Zimmerman, her devoted dog Buddy and many adoring nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held at Noon on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Road, Huntertown with calling 1 hour prior (consider wearing red to the Celebration to honor her favorite color and the Cincinnati Reds). Calling also Monday, October 13th 2025 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home (please wear something from your favorite sports team in memory of Carol). You could go on and on about our sweet Carol but to know her is to love her and during these difficult times it's overwhelming to receive the love and support of so many people! Words can not express the appreciation the family feels while you surrounded them with prayers.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, WIND CHIMES, STONES OR AFGHANS, the family asks you consider making a donation to a memorial fund- payable to Kent Miller, to help offset the daunting medical bills associated with the 10 days in Cardio-Lung Critical Care Unit and double lung transplant procedures and past medical bills.
