Deloris Thompson Obituary
She attended North Side High School, Fort Wayne, IN and graduated from Jefferson Center High School, Whitley County, Indiana with the Class of 1953. On November 14, 1953, she married Clarence Thompson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. Deloris was a member of Laud Christian Church and was involved with Christian Woman's Fellowship at the church. She was also a member of the Jefferson Township Homemakers Club where she held many offices within the club.
She enjoyed fishing, camping and family outings. Deloris also loved birds and nature and was known for her beautiful flowers. Her grandchildren were a joy to her. She loved to spend time with family.
Deloris is survived by her husband, Clarence E. 'Tom' Thompson; children, Connie Thompson of LaValle, Wisconsin, Carl (Sandy) Thompson of Columbia City, Indiana, Kevin (Susie) Thompson of South Whitley, Indiana, Kenneth Thompson of Wolcottville, Indiana, and Christina (John) Workman of Columbia City, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Along with her parents, Deloris was preceded in death by her infant son, Gene Edwin Thompson; one great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Ann (Bill) Kuhn; and brother, Wendell Chaney
Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 15, 2025, with calling one hour prior also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
