Dennis Buesching Obituary

Dennis Paul "Denny" Buesching, 69 of Fort Wayne passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Denny was born February 13, 1956, in Fort Wayne, the son of Paul and Dorothy Marie (Bischoff) Buesching. He married Kathy Hathaway, sharing 45 years together. Denny was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. He enjoyed many sports: baseball, basketball, football, and golf. But his passion was found in music. His love for music began in grade school where he self-taught the drums. It continued in high school where he was President of the Concordia Lutheran High School band. His first foray into playing popular music was when he joined The Spectrum band. Denny was a member of The DeeBee's starting in the early 80s and playing all the way until December of 2024. Denny was an entertainer: A frontman for jokes, laughs, and comedic relief. A 20th century jester with quick wit and a passion for curing deep sadness with jovial boosts, practical jokes, and stirring every and any pot. Anything to get you to laugh. He had a presence and a grin that would light up a room. He was very down-to-earth and would help anyone who needed it. He lived "pay it forward" without every needing anything back. He loved spending time with his family, whether it was camping, fishing, swimming or just being outside looking for his next big adventure. Denny is survived by his wife Kathy; two sons, Josh (Laura) Buesching and Nate (Brittany) Buesching; five grandchildren, Frankie, Abigail, Evelyn, Kale, and Leah; two sisters, Donna (Tom) Koester and Susanne (Steve) Long. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 917 West Jefferson Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802 with an hour of visitation prior to the service. We´re so sorry to hear about Denny´s passing.

We will miss our drive by or walk by talks with Denny. Whether he was walking Sophie or driving her around in his sports car, we could count on a humor filled conversation if he saw us outside.

He was a great guy and will be missed by so many.

We will miss his musical talents from a myriad of venues over the years.

Our prayers are with Kathy and the family.

From his posted obituary: "He [Denny] had a presence and a grin that would light up a room." I cannot express my memories of Denny beyond these words. My prayers go out to Kathy and the family.
