Doris Maxine Smith

Doris Maxine Smith, 76, of Warren, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Heritage Pointe of Warren. She was born on December 5, 1948, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of Mart Adamson and Delores (Harrell). On November 2, 1968, Doris married the love of her life, Lewis Ray Smith, at Central Christian Church. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to one another and their family. Doris was a 1966 graduate of Eastbrook High School. She later returned to work within the same school community, where she proudly served for 19 years as a cook for Eastbrook Community Schools. She loved her job and the friendships she formed with coworkers, many of whom became lifelong friends. Doris enjoyed the simple joys of life, watching hummingbirds and butterflies from her patio, working on word search puzzles, cooking, and baking for those she loved. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who treasured time spent with her family. Survivors include her husband, Lewis Ray Smith; daughter, Tamara (Steve) Jackson; son, Travis (Ashley) Smith; sister, Marta (Charlie) Haynes; five grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Hank. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Van Buren Cemetery, with Steve Nevius officiating. Family and friends are welcome to join.
