Elmer Terry Obituary
Elmer Terry, 90, of Kendallville, Indiana, went to join "His Queen", his beloved wife, Ilda at Jesus' feet on Friday, September 5, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born September 19, 1934, in Handshoe, Kentucky to Alex and Nancy (Handshoe) Terry.
On January 1, 1955, in Brimfield, he married Ilda Roark. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2023.
He had worked at Lane Foundry in Kendallville until its closure and retired from Foley Pattern in Auburn.
He was a member of Five Corners Baptist Church in Wolcottville.
Elmer had a deep love for gardening and took great joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with his family. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting with his dogs, cutting and splitting wood, and dedicating his time to work in the church, where he served as deacon for over 60 years. Above all, Elmer dearly loved his family and was often found at his grandkids baseball games, cheering them on with pride.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie (Ray) Gulick of Kendallville and Rebecca (Willis) Terry of Kendallville; four grandchildren, Chasity (Chad) Bruce of Kendallville, Lacy Stanley of Avilla, Adrianna Herman of Kendallville, and Michael (Nikki) Gulick of Albion; six great-grandchildren, Drake, Kayla, Gunner, Alivia, Alizabeth, and Jayedis; two sisters, Tina (Dana) Bolen of Kendallville and Donna Strange of Kendallville; four brothers, Milford Terry of Kendallville, Denzil Terry of Kendallville, Delbert Terry of Kendallville, and Elmine (Sheila) Terry of Wolcottville.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Terry and Delmer Terry; and seven sisters, Opal Terry, infant, Nella Faye Terry, Delphia Ramey, Sadie Adkins, Edith Hollifield, Glenna Manns, and Corene Green.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Five Corner Baptist Church, 2995 E 600 S, Wolcottville.
Funeral services will also be Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Jim Snyder and Pastor Brett Frick officiating.
Graveside services will be Monday, September 15, 2025, at 12 p.m. in Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jayedis Herman and Gunner Gulick. Active pallbearers will be Ray Gulick, Willis Terry, Michael Gulick, Chad Bruce, Larry Terry, and Drake Bruce.
Preferred memorials are to Five Corners Baptist Church.
