Hedwig Pratt Obituary

Hedwig "Heddy" Pratt, 83, of Columbia City passed away peacefully at her grandson's home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 25, 1941, in Steinheim, Germany, she was the daughter of Franz and Else (Peter) Dietrich. She married Russell Wayne Pratt Sr. on January 30, 1960, with whom she shared many years of love and devotion until his passing. Heddy enjoyed crocheting and found joy in watching classic television favorites such as The Andy Griffith Show, Little House on the Prairie, and Gunsmoke. While living in Florida, she operated a T-shirt business, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family. She is survived by her grandchildren, Tadd (Jessica) Pratt, Amber Pressler, Braden (Amanda) Pratt, and Tiffany Oliver; along with nine great-grandchildren, David, Rilee, Tyler, Madison, Mason, Noah, Raegan, Kaytlyn, and Colton; two daughters-in-law, Christine Pratt and Deb Pratt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; three children, Lynn, Ronald, and Russell Jr.; and her brother, Zurgan Dietrich. In honoring Heddy's wishes, no services will be held. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Russell Sr., at Covington Memorial Gardens.
