Laura Solis Obituary
Laura Jean Solis, 79, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. To describe Laura and the kind, selfless person she was, would take an entire book. She lived every day with a heart wide open, always giving, always caring, and always putting others before herself. Her life's work was devoted to caring for others. Laura spent her career in the medical field, compassionately serving the elderly, especially those who had no family of their own. To them, she became family. She often volunteered to work holidays so no one would have to spend them alone, offering comfort, dignity, and love in moments when people needed it most. She never sought recognition or reward; she gave because it was who she was. When her loved ones tried to give back to her, she would gently say, "Don't make a fuss about me."
Laura's greatest devotion was to her family. She was the loving caretaker of her husband, William, until his passing in 1996. Afterward, she poured herself into her children, ensuring that they had not only what they needed, but also the steady presence of her love, encouragement, and support.
Her love for her grandchildren-Austin, Leah, Georgia, and Micheal. Laura absolutely adored them. She had a special, unshakable bond with each of them and loved them fiercely. Whether it was attending their events, cheering them on, babysitting countless hours with each of them, or simply spending quiet moments together, she always made them feel cherished and understood. Her grandchildren knew they could count on her for anything, and the love she poured into them will forever be part of who they are. Time spent with her siblings Bobby and Rosie brought laughter, stories, and joy that filled every room. Their countless inside jokes and time spent together created the best memories for everyone who knew them.
Laura's kind soul touched countless lives. She had a gift for making people feel seen, cared for, and loved. Her absence will be felt so deeply-not only by her family but by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and unconditional love.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband William, and we take comfort in knowing they are together once again.
Survivors include her daughter, Florence (Tom) Bear and her son, Bill (Dawn) Solis, both of Fort Wayne, and her grandchildren, Austin, Leah, Georgia and Michael; her great-grandchildren, Denver and Jaci Solis. Laura is also survived by her brother, Robert (Nancy) Rowan of Naperville IL and sister, Rose (Ray) Heridia of Prescott AZ.
