Leah Newcomer Obituary

Leah L. Newcomer, age 59, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 5:40 pm on Saturday June 28, 2025, at her residence. Born on December 24, 1965, in Marion, IN, she was the daughter of Larry Leroy and Mary Elizabeth (Bartow) Priser. Leah attended Warsaw High School and graduated with the Class of 1984. On August 31, 1985, she married Terry Lee Newcomer in Syracuse. She later attended Huntington University and graduated with the Class of 2012. Leah worked for Barts Car Store in the finance department for several years, before stopping to care for her husband Terry when he became ill. She enjoyed making jewelry, crocheting, spending time and going on trips with family. Survivors include her daughters Brandie Swick and Amanda (Aaron Petelle) Newcomer; grandchildren Gabriel and Wyatt; mother Mary Loving; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chuck and Patsy Summerlot. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Lee Newcomer, brothers Larry Lee Priser and Robert Darrell Priser, stepfather Thomas Lee Loving, and stepbrother Douglas Priser. Funeral services for Leah will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday July 7, 2025, at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with calling two hours prior to service. Private burial in Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorial contributions in memory of Leah may be made to DeMoney Grimes towards her final expenses.
