Marlena Marie O'Dell

Marlena Marie O'Dell, 61, of Wawaka, Indiana, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her residence. She was born June 24, 1964, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Nathan and Linda (Baldwin) O'Dell. She was a homemaker and had worked in area restaurants. Marlena loved gardening and enjoyed sitting in the sun everyday reading. Surviving are her companion, Dewayne Troyer of Wawaka; a daughter, Malynda (Michael) Lewis of Rome City; two sons, Matthew Troyer of Wawaka and Mitchell Troyer of Wawaka; four grandchildren, Kody Mapes, John Troyer, Luke Troyer, and Maddison Hagen; the children she babysat and adopted as her grandchildren, Manny Garn, Kai Gullett, Koah Gullett, Ivory Marshall, Olivia Troyer, and Makayla Sparkman; her stepmother, Jeanie O'Dell of Nappanee; her stepfather, Tom Garn of Sturgis, Michigan; four sisters, Tabatha (Dave) DePew of Kendallville, Samantha (Tom) Clifton of Rome City, Corrina O'Dell of Sturgis, Michigan, and Sharlena O'Dell of White Pigeon, Michigan; and two brothers, Tony O'Dell and Dustin Garn of Sturgis, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan O'Dell; and her mother, Linda Garn. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Independent Baptist Church in South Milford. Marlena's funeral service will be Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 5 p.m. at the church with Pastor Earl Bolen officiating.
