Mary Kline Obituary
Mary Jane Kline, age 101, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at her daughter's residence.
Mrs. Kline was born on May 1, 1924, in Huntington, IN, to the late Hubert and Marie (Reindl) Kastner.
Mary Jane was a homemaker, and so lovingly raised her three children. As they grew up, she shared that same tremendous love with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Jane was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church all of her life, living out her beautiful faith every day in all that she did. She loved attending Mass and was a member of both the Regular Choir and the Funeral Choir, for many years. She absolutely loved music, as she played piano regularly, also passing that passion on to her daughter.
Mary Jane worked at Our Sunday Visitor/Noll Printing, Huntington, IN for many years until she retired. After her retirement, she was one busy lady! She worked at the Love food pantry for many years. She loved crocheting and all arts and crafts, but began taking a special interest in painting ceramics. The beautiful talent that was shown in her completed projects was amazing! Many of these completed treasures were given to her children. She regularly played Euchre and participated in many other activities at the Senior Center, enjoyed Bingo, Big10 Basketball (we learned not to call during Tournament time!), and must have gone through 100's of Word Search puzzle books over the years – and she was fast at doing them! One of her favorite games to play was "Aggravation" (the marble board game). If you talk with anyone who played against her, she was a "force to be reckoned with", and always, ALWAYS, So. Much. Fun!
Mary Jane loved animals, but most especially dogs. She especially loved her beloved "Maggie", and her Grand-dogs "Riley" and "Porsche Grace".
Mary Jane is survived by one son, Steven R. (Judy) Kline, Highland Village, TX; two daughters, Sharon M. Kline, Susanne K. (Rick) Meadows, both of Huntington, IN; three grandchildren, Jason (Crystal) Kline, TX, Krysten Daniel (Christopher Maloney), CA, Mariah Meadows, Huntington, IN; and four great grandchildren, Coby Kline, Logan Kline, and Teagan and August Maloney, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Kastner; and four sisters, Bernadette Varga, Ruth Smuts, twins, Madaline and Maxine Kastner, and her loving companion for many years, Jack Moran.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4pm to 7pm, with a Recitation of the Rosary, beginning at 3:30 pm, all at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN.
