Owen James Roberts

Owen James Roberts, age 69, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at 5:18 pm on Saturday August 30, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne. Born on May 11, 1956, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Frank and Rita (Clemmer) Roberts. Owen attended St. Henry's Catholic Grade School, then Bishop Luers High School and graduated with the Class of 1974. He then attended Ball State University and graduated with the Class of 1978. Owen worked at Bond-Flex Rubber Company, Columbia City with his father starting in 1978, and was the plant manager until 1994. He then founded and was plant manager of H.A. King of Indiana, Fort Wayne. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Arcola, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #155 and Sons of American Legion Post #499. Owen was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, and volunteering at St. Henry's Catholic Church. On June 28, 1996, he married Jackie Liston in Fort Wayne. Survivors include his wife Jackie Liston of Fort Wayne; stepson Lance Liston of Fort Wayne; siblings Joan Roberts of Markle, Dale Roberts of New York City, NY, Kurt Roberts of Fort Wayne, and Bart Roberts of Vista, CA; 5 nieces and 6 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mark Roberts. Friends may call on Thursday September 4, 2025, from 2:00-8:00 pm at DeMoney Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A Mass of Christian Burial for Owen will be held at 11:00 am on Friday September 5, 2025, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 12305 Arcola Road, Arcola, with calling one hour prior. Entombment will follow in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Owen was so kind, caring, and giving, that memorial contributions in his memory are most preferred made to Bishop Luers High School Alumni Fund, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, or Hamilton Park Little League to honor his wishes.
