Rodney Newcomer Obituary

Rodney James Newcomer, 65, of Kendallville, Indiana died Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his residence. He was born September 20, 1960, in Kendallville to Jerry O. and Bonnie B. (Deller) Newcomer. They survive in Kendallville. Rodney honorably served in the U.S. Air Force as a parachute packer. Mr. Newcomer was a truck driver. He enjoyed working on airplanes, riding motorcycles, and his cats. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are a son, Alec Traxler of Corunna; three grandchildren, Ade'Rhiana Traxler, Gunnar Traxler, and Rozalynn Traxler; two brothers, Jon (Christina) Newcomer of Kendallville and Ronald Newcomer of Kendallville; and two sisters, Brenda (Kevin) McCorkle of Fort Wayne and Amy (Glenn) Grooms of Goshen. Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Honor guard services provided by the Veterans Honor Guard will be on Friday, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville at a later date.
