Terry Bowman Obituary
Terry E. Bowman "Bear", 66, a lifelong resident of the Montpelier area, passed away at 2:35 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at his home in Montpelier, Indiana.
He was born on September 29, 1958, in Hartford City, Indiana, to the late Harry Edward Bowman and Carol (Russell) Sills. Terry was a 1976 graduate of Blackford High School. He formerly worked at Leas Feed Mill and Sheller Globe both in Montpelier, and Metaldyne in Bluffton, where he retired in 2020. On July 2, 2009, he married Jaunice Besser Bowman in Hartford City. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, riding his golf cart, and collecting lunchboxes, gathering a personal collection of over 250. Above all, he loved his family and cherished every moment with them.
He is survived by his wife, Jaunice Bowman of Montpelier; mother, Carol Sills, of Montpelier, children, Melissa (David) Dow of Hartford City and Cody Bowman of Montpelier; stepchildren, Holli O'Hern of Hartford City, Jessica O'Hern of Carmel, Heather Leisz of Greenwood, Trevor O'Hern of Indianapolis, Hayley Miyazato of Okinawa, Japan, grandchildren, Devin (Sarah) Dow, Dayton (Lilee) Dow, Gracie Dow, Gage Dow, Kenzie Delporte, Kellan Delporte Kamara Vargas, Charlotte Leisz, Theodore Leisz, Shintaro Miyazato, Kento Miyazato, great grandchildren or as Terry would say-his pride and joys, Scarlett, Savannah, Elory and Archer; brothers, David Bowman of Hartford City and Robert "Bobby" (Cheri) Bowman of Decatur, Arkansas; sisters, Cindy (Joe) Garrison of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Tracey (William) Paxson of Bryant, Indiana, and Ann (Fred) Miller of Hartford City.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Harry "Ed" Bowman, son, Chad Bowman, grandchildren, Dillon Dow, Faith Dow, Josslyn Sophia Jewel Gee.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 4-8 pm at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, located at 109 W. Windsor Street, Montpelier. A Celebration of Terry's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, with calling hours beginning at 1:00 PM until the service begins. He will be laid to rest at Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
