Abraham Markland Obituary

Sunrise: July 5, 1950 | Sunset: May 19, 2025 Abraham Markland, age 74, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025. Abraham was a devoted father, beloved grandfather, loyal companion, friend, and passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan whose presence lit up every room he entered. Born on July 5, 1950 in Drapers, Portland, Jamaica, Abraham was known for his hardworking spirit, big heart, and love for his community. He spent many years working in construction, where he took pride in his craft and helped build more than just structures, he built relationships and left a lasting impact wherever he worked. He provided for his family, helping others, always leading with strength, integrity, and humor. Abraham was also a mentor and role model to many young people in the community through his earlier years of coaching with the LCYA Bulldogs. Whether on the field or in life, he believed in discipline, teamwork, and lifting others up. His players and fellow coaches will remember him for his commitment, his tough love, and his unforgettable sense of humor. Family was everything to Abraham. He is survived by his loving partner of 16 years, Deborah and her family; his sons Dennis, Atiba, Reginald, Nathanael, his daughters Shellane, Fiona and Kanika, his wealth of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his older sister Doriteh, who will forever cherish his wisdom, laughter, and the love he so freely gave. He is also remembered by the mothers of his children, Yvonne, Veda, Melessa, and Marcia, who each shared meaningful chapters of his life and legacy. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, compassion, and loyalty that will live on through everyone who knew him. Abraham was a diehard Eagles fan through and through. His home was a shrine to the Birds, filled with memorabilia, team pride, and endless game day excitement. One of the greatest joys of his life was witnessing the Eagles' Super Bowl victories, moments that brought him immeasurable happiness and pride. He bled green and flew high for his team, always. A celebration of Abraham's life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11 AM at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, P.C.,1629 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102. A calling hour will be held from 10-11 AM Friday in the funeral home. All are welcome to attend and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you wear your Eagles green and black in his memory and share a story, a photo, or a toast in his honor. "Fly, Eagles Fly," Pops. You will always be our champion. Your love, laughter, and strength will live on forever in all of us.
