Agnes Treacy Obituary
In Loving Memory of Agnes Bridget Treacy
August 19, 1955 – August 21, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Agnes Bridget Treacy, of Reading, PA, who left this world peacefully on August 21, 2025, just two days after celebrating her 70th birthday.
Born on August 19, 1955, in Manhattan, Agnes lived a full, vibrant life rooted in love, family, and an unshakable spirit. She was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her strength, warmth, and humor touched the lives of all who knew her.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Walter John Wiatrak, and her daughter, Agnes Bridget Wiatrak, along with her three stepchildren. She was a proud grandmother to Catherine, Ashley, and several other grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandmother to Bella and Harmony.
She is also survived by her siblings: John Treacy (wife Betty Jean), Eileen Treacy, Catherine Treacy, Patricia Treacy, and Michael Treacy, as well as many nieces and nephews who brought joy and laughter into her life.
Agnes was known for her outspoken nature, quick wit, and fierce loyalty to her loved ones. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-playing phone games, enjoying bingo nights, fishing with the kids, celebrating holidays, and watching baseball games. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and good food, especially during the holidays she adored.
Per her wishes, Agnes will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be planned at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman she was.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are forever grateful for the time we had with her. Agnes's spirit will continue to live on in the love she gave and the memories she leaves behind.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely.
"Weep Not For Me"
Weep not for me though I have gone
Into that gentle night
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my soul's sweet flight
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years
There is no pain, I suffer not
The fear is now all gone
Put now these things out of your thoughts
In your memory I live on
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife
Please do not dwell upon my death
But celebrate my life.
