Alice Dimmig Obituary

In Loving Memory of Alice Eileen Dimmig (November 21, 1943 - July 14, 2025)

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, Alice Eileen (Dwyer) Dimmig, who went peacefully into her Lord's care on July 14, 2025, at the age of eighty-one surrounded by her family.

Alice was born on November 21, 1943, in Washington, D.C., to Hobart and Olga Dwyer (Johnson). She was affectionately called "Al" by many of her friends and family. Alice earned a certificate in Stenography and worked at The Maritime Administration and Georgetown University Hospital in her hometown before working as a Rehab Therapy Technician at Valley Manor Nursing Home. Alice was wed to Gary Lee Dimmig on July 29, 1967, and moved throughout the country as a Navy wife, before the couple built their family home in East Greenville.

Alice had the best laugh and carried a heartwarming smile that could light up a room with ease. She had a passion for homemaking; visitors were greeted with the lush peonies and hydrangeas of her prized garden and welcomed inside for a delicious meal, where her refinement was evident in every corner and accompanied by a profusion of family photos. She was a gifted storyteller and delighted in gathering loved ones around the dinner table, captivating them with her tales and charming them with her mischievous wit.

Alice loved the shore, where she found peace in the rhythm of the waves and joy in collecting shells with her grandchildren. Some of her most treasured memories were made during the family's yearly summer vacations to the beach, trips she looked forward to with great excitement. Whether walking the boardwalk in the evening or soaking up the sun with her children and grandchildren, those moments brought her profound happiness.

She spent her life in the company of her dearest friends, her radiant family, and her loving husband of 58 years, Gary-celebrating together, traveling together, and treasuring their accomplishments as if they were her own.

She is survived by her husband, Gary, and their four children: Deborah Rakiro (Ken) of King of Prussia; Kimberly Fronheiser (Rich) of Northampton; and Jeffrey Dimmig (Jessica) and Stephanie Yazdanyar (Ali), both of Coopersburg. She was also the beloved grandmother of 11 grandchildren: Melissa, Olivia, Peyton, Ethan, Gavin, Catherine, Elizabeth, Grace, Jonathan, Kate, and Claire. Alice is also survived by her brother, Michael Dwyer, of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia, and her brother, Timothy.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 21, 2025, with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Blue Church, 5900 Applebutter Hill Rd, Coopersburg, PA 18036. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a charity close to her heart.

Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unshakable devotion to those she held dear.
