Alma Patricia "Pat" McCann

Alma Patricia McCann (Dailey) March 13, 1927 - February 26, 2025 A. Patricia (Pat) McCann was born March 13, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA, to John C. and Alma R. Dailey (Mulroney). She attended Saint Philomena grade school in Lansdowne Pennsylvania, high school at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, and Immaculata College where she graduated with a B.A. in Biology. She began her teaching career at McKean Elementary School in southwest Philadelphia. She married William V. McCann in May 1953. She re-introduced herself back into education teaching first and second grade in the Upper Merion School District (UMSD). While teaching, she received several awards, including induction into the UMSD Wall of Fame in 1989 and the Valley Forge Optimist Club "Partners in Education Award" in 1997. Pat, or Trish, as she was known to her friends, was an accomplished ballet and tap dancer at an early age, and she continued to enjoy dance throughout her life. During college, she loved working summers in Ocean City, New Jersey, even becoming a "Watson Girl" at Watson's Restaurant. Later in her life she traveled overseas as well as throughout the United States. After retirement, she moved to Brittany Pointe whereby she widened her friendship circle. Pat always remained your friend whether she knew you from grade school, high school, college, The Shore, King of Prussia or Brittany Pointe. She is survived by children Maripat, Alisa and Kevin (Sue), and grandchildren Shannon Gorman (Matt), Connor and Ryan. The family will receive guests on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 9 AM to 10:15 AM at Corpus Christi Church, 900 Sumneytown Pike, Lansdale, PA. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Burial immediately following at Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA. In lieu of flowers, donation would be appreciated to either Immaculata University Scholarship Fund P.O.
