Amalie Poda, aged 93, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at Providence Living at Hunter's Creek in Kissimmee, Florida. Born on September 30, 1931, in Polling, Germany, to Heinrich and Rosina Glas, Amalie's early years were steeped in the rich culture and traditions of her native land.
Amalie lived a life marked by dedication to her family and her craft. After World War II, Amalie met her future husband Miklos in Polling Germany. Five years after Miklos immigrated to Bethlehem, PA, Amalie followed and they were married in Bethlehem, PA. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and enduring memories until his passing. Amalie was also preceded in death by her father, Heinrich Glas, her mother Rosina Glas, her sister, Rosina Weissenbach, and her brother, Alois Glas. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Anita, and her husband, Timothy Moulton, of Davenport, Florida, her cherished grandson, Christopher Moulton, and his wife, Patricia, and her treasured great-grandchild, Brynn Kara of Westfield, NJ. Each of them reflects a part of her spirit and carries forward her values and love.
Professionally, Amalie was a highly skilled seamstress, a vocation that showcased her precision, creativity, and attention to detail. Her hands were rarely still, as she was always at work on a new garment or project, infusing love into every stitch. Her talents were not just a means of livelihood but also a form of expression and connection with those she served through her craft.
Her faith was an integral part of her life, and for many years she was an active member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The church community benefitted greatly from her involvement and unwavering faith. Amalie's kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Those who knew Amalie will remember her for her warmth, her generous spirit, and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She was a beacon of strength and love, always putting others before herself. Her smile and gentle presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 12 P.M. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11 A.M. until time of the service. Interment will conclude services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
