Anna Williams Obituary

Anna M. (Ruehlman) Williams, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Walter I. Williams, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Born on June 15, 1939, in White Oak Run, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Patti) Ruehlman. She was a graduate of Pocono High School and later St. Luke's School of Nursing. Anna dedicated more than 40 years of her life to nursing, having worked at St. Luke's Hospital then various private practices. She was known for her compassion and commitment to caring for others. Anna was a member of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, Bethlehem where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for more than 40 years bringing comfort and faith to countless individuals. She later extended that ministry to Holy Family Manor. She was also a former member of St. Ursula Catholic Church. Anna was an amazing gardener who loved spending her days outdoors, tending to her flowers and plants. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially recipes passed down from her mother's Italian kitchen. Known for her warm heart and generosity, Anna always cared for others-family, friends, and neighbors alike. One of her greatest joys was traveling to cheer on her grandson Garrett at his baseball games. Survivors: In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Beth Meckley and her companion Brian Keller, Jennifer Meckley and her husband Todd, and Amy Lambert and her husband Luke; grandchildren, Garrett William Meckley, McKenna Meckley and Mavryk Meckley; brother, David Ruehlman and his wife Laurie; and sister, Nellie Kochenash and her husband Daniel; her sister in law Linda Ruehlman, and nieces and nephews. October 2, 2025

My memories of Anna Marie are of a happy smiling welcoming, Italian young woman that welcomed me into her family, as if I´d always been there. She was willing to share anything she knew that she could help with... from treasured family recipes to plants. I never could get the hang of her cream cheese cookies! Her exuberance for life and her care for others was overwhelming and contagious. I wish there had been more opportunities to know her better. Love and God`s peace to all the family. I hope you hear the echoes of her laughter as you remember her. I still can.
