Anne Hilaire Tallarico passed peacefully into eternal rest on February 16, 2025, at home with her family by her side. Anne was born to Jane and Emile Hilaire on May 10, 1929. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, a lifelong resident of Bethlehem, and a long-time parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Anne was predeceased by her husband, John James Tallarico. Together they owned and operated the Linden Food Market for many years. Under John's supervision, Anne became an accomplished and prolific Italian chef.
Anne had an extremely competitive spirit, participating in softball, volleyball and swimming in high school. She continued that love of athletics throughout her life, teaching her children to swim and ice skate, often in the company of her five sisters. The sisters enjoyed swimming, skating and water skiing together. She also enjoyed playing board games with her children and grandchildren. Her competitiveness continued to the many bridge games she played in her beloved Moravian Village community. Anne loved watching baseball and football and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. Anne did not leave her house unless her hair, make-up and clothes were perfect. Her sewing expertise allowed her to make countless outfits for herself and her daughters. Anne was very fortunate that her wonderful daytime caregiver, Ana Maskal, was able to satisfy her hair styling and accessory desires and always had her looking well. Ana provided Anne with an amazing last few months of her life, ensuring that she participated in and enjoyed the many holiday activities at Moravian Village. Her nighttime caregiver, Enid Jackson, was another wonderful comfort to Anne at the end, often enjoying middle of the night TV shows and cookies with Anne, and providing for her every need. The family will be forever grateful to these two angels.
In addition to her husband, Anne was predeceased by her five sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her four children, John Tallarico, Jr. (Joanna), Jean Richmond (James), Mimi Stephens (Tim) and Paul Tallarico. Also surviving Anne are eight grandchildren, John Michael Tallarico, Zachary Tallarico, Julia Tallarico Spinelli, James Richmond, Jr., Steven Richmond, Andrew Richmond, Elyse Stephens and Timothy Stephens, Jr. In addition, Anne had two great-grandchildren, Santino and Giovanna Spinelli, with a Baby Richmond due any day.
