Anthony A. Mariano

Anthony Mariano, known to friends and family as A.J., passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, in Jim Thorpe, PA, after a life robust with laughter, love, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones and community. Born on November 23, 1950, in Hazleton, PA, a son to the late Anthony and Bernice (Santilli) Mariano, he grew into a man characterized by his sharp wit, remarkable ingenuity, and boundless generosity. A.J. spent the majority of his career as a logistics supervisor with Rotelle, Inc and eventually the Haines and Kibblehouse Group. Prior to that, he played minor league baseball for the Montreal Expos and was a Federal Marshal for Conrail. For A.J., family was the pillar of his universe. He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle (Gular) Mariano; his brother, Joseph Mariano; his sons, Mark and Kevin Mariano; his daughter Amanda Turner; and his 5 grandchildren: Julian, Madi, Adrianna, Maranda, Alexandra, and Addison. He was preceded in death by his grandson Gavin. Anthony's absence will be profoundly felt, yet those who knew him understand that his spirit lives on through the countless memories he created. His penchant for jokes, his readiness to lend a hand, and his unwavering commitment to his family and friends define a life lived to the fullest-a life grounded in the joy of giving and the strength of character. As we bid farewell to A.J., we take comfort in the echoes of laughter and the tangible evidence of his life's work that adorns both his community and the hearts of those he touched. Anthony Mariano lived a life that each of us strives to emulate: a life full of laughter, utility, and selflessness.
