Anthony Pileggi Obituary
Anthony was born on November 7, 1936 in Ambler PA to the late James and Phyllis (Palermo) Pileggi. Anthony lived in Blue Bell, PA with his wife Arlene, of 68 years, who predeceased him in 2021.
Together with his brother, Frank Pileggi, they formed Pileggi & Sons, Inc., a well-respected hauling and contracting business in the industry. Sometime later, their younger brother, Jim Pileggi joined the company. The business operated successfully for approximately 45 years.
Anthony enjoyed many summers at his vacation home in Ocean City, NJ. After retiring in 2003 he and his wife traveled the world. Anthony will be remembered for his quick-witted sense of humor. He was known as a master storyteller. Anthony always had some type of home project underway. He enjoyed gardening and exercised daily, -walking nearly every day as long as he was able. He especially enjoyed a good Italian meal with his family.
Anthony is survived by his brothers, Frank (Mary) and Jim (Linda), his children, Jim (Patty) Pileggi of Glenmoore, PA, Kathy Molyneaux (Dennis) of Skippack, PA, Terry O'Brien of Somers Point, NJ, Marybeth Hopson (Rob) of Delran NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Steven Molyneaux (Kasey), David Molyneaux, Jessica Boots (Sean), Carly Wilk, Amy Gary (Keith), Katie Johns, Julianne Rittenhouse (Charles), Elizabeth Laptev (Bogdan), Robert Hopson, Billy Hopson in addition to many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Anthony is predeceased in death by his sons, Anthony Pileggi, Jr and Barry Pileggi (Maureen).
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. A viewing will be from 9 AM to 10:15 AM in the Church Narthex. Entombment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Norristown.
