Barbara L. Holmes

Barbara L. Holmes, 79, of North Catasauqua, died Saturday July 12, 2025, at her residence at Sacred Heart Senior Living by the Creek in Northampton. She was the wife of the late Douglas R. Holmes and celebrated 53 years of marriage together before his passing in 2021. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie (Bogert) Tolan. After graduating from Catasauqua High School, Barbara worked for many years in customer service for the former Daytimers. She also enjoyed working as a "lunch lady" for the Catasauqua Area School District at the former Lincoln Middle School. Barbara was also a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Whitehall. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her kindness and patience. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved spending time with her husband and children and she was her granddaughters' biggest fan, cheering them on at their sporting events all through the middle and high school years, and college. Surviving are her son Todd Holmes and wife Gina and their daughters Ella and Brooke, and her brother Bryan Geist (wife Tracy). Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter Tracy L Holmes and husband Douglas R. Holmes The family would like to thank the staff at Sacred Heart Senior Living and Family Pillars for their exceptional care. A calling hour will be held from 10-11:30am Thursday July 17, 2025, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, PA 18032.
