Carmen L. Gonzalez Dieppa, 77, of Bushkill Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Inpatient Hospice in Allentown. She was the loving wife of Juan L. Barnes. Carmen and Juan would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on July 17.
One of 11 children, Carmen was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, to the late Candido Gonzalez and Pascuala Dieppa. After earning a Bachelor's degree in Education, Carmen embarked on a very satisfying and successful career as a school teacher, which focused on helping students with learning disabilities. Her enthusiasm for helping others transcended education. Carmen enjoyed life and her family was most important to her. The simple pleasures of cooking, doing the laundry and ironing were among her favorite pastimes. Carmen shared a way of life, love and giving that will forever be her legacy.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Juan, she will be dearly missed by her three daughters, Lourdes Barnes and husband, Freddie West, Jr., of Bushkill Township, Doricely Barnes of Delmar, New York, and Johanna Barnes of Raleigh, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Kathia Barnes; brothers and sisters; along with many nieces and nephews.
Carmen was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services: Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., in the Village of Moorestown - Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: www.bensingfuneralhome.net.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
