Carol J. Barker

Carol J. Barker, 76, of Jim Thorpe, formerly of Emmaus, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. Her husband, Bruce E. Barker, Sr., passed away on January 6, 2016. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Genevieve (Luksa) Kondravy. Carol was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Jim Thorpe and was a former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Allentown. She was a graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and taught at St. Ann School for many years. Carol had maintained a floral arrangement business in Emmaus in the 1980s. She was active in the Bear Creek Lake Community in Jim Thorpe and was an avid bowler in several leagues, including the St. Thomas More League, where she was the only female captain at the time. Survivors: Sons, Bruce E. Barker, Jr., Jeremy A. Barker and his wife, Rachel Belani-Barker, Eric A. Barker and his wife, Layne, and Evan M. Barker and his wife, Laura Gallagher; Sister, Paula Trickett; and Grandchildren, Mira, Bridget, Powers, Tate and Brynleigh, with one Granddaughter on the way. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 2 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 526 North Street, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday in the church.
