Charles Caparo Obituary

Charles D. Caparo, "Chuck", age 78, of Plymouth Meeting, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025 at Markley Rehab and Healthcare Center in Norristown, after a hard fought 7-month battle with Glioblastoma. He was the beloved husband of Diane M. (Mulhern) Caparo for 52 years. He was born in Norristown, PA on June 26, 1947 to the late Harry C. Caparo, Sr. and Anna C. (DeGideo) Caparo. Chuck was a graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, class of 1965 a wrestling champ, and distinguished alumni. He attended Bloomsburg University and Philadelphia College of Textile of Science where he earned a BS degree in Chemistry. He later earned his real estate license and his insurance license. Chuck started a very successful business in 1976 in Conshohocken where he was owner and broker of Caparo Insurance Agency for over 40 years until his retirement. Chuck was a member of Plymouth Country Club (1912 Club) for over 40 years and served as president over 10 years. He had a love for golf that led him to participate in many tournaments locally and won several prestigious tournaments. He also traveled the world with his "golf crew," playing on his dream courses. He was also a member of the Conshohocken Lions Club (past president), The Sciaccatani Club, and Epiphany of Our Lord Church. Chuck coached wrestling for the Greater Norristown Wrestling Club for many years. He had a serious love of music. He played keyboards and accordion and was in a well-known local band throughout the 60s/70s, along with his bride, "Diane and the Jades" where they played at local venues, weddings and parties for nearly 20 years. They also won the prestigious state "Battle of the Bands." Chuck enjoyed quality time with his family, family vacations in France, exploring Europe and the islands with friends, summers and weekends in the Poconos, and finally, Marco Island, Florida. He had a knack for making his presence known in numerous comical ways at family gatherings. Ask anyone, and they will say, he was one of the best. In addition to his wife Diane, he is survived by his daughter Amy Braverman (Peter), his granddaughter Sophia Braverman, his sister Maryann Coupe (David), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Chad W. Caparo and his brother Harry C. Caparo, Jr. (Kathleen).
